heya folks....
after a healthy amount of touring this year so far and a little break so we
could get our heads and lives back together im happy to report that all four
of us are all not only in the same town but actually in the same room,moving
gear, telling jokes, reflecting on the ending of the sopranos, oh and...we
are working on material for a new paper chase album! i have an enormous pile
of music that has been collecting in my head for a year or two now, its
really exciting to show this stuff to other human beings! who knows when any
of this will see the light of day but since i haven't updated in quite some
time i thought we should let you know we are alive and kicking.
there will be shows here and there popping up, keep checking the shows page.

hi folks.
yet another tour is among us. most of the shows as some of you may know are
sold out. for those who cant get in to the show of their choice there is one
consolation price: the show on the 17th at the 930 club in washington dc
will be broadcast live on npr's "all songs considered". tune in and dropout.
we have our copies of the newly reissued "cntrl alt del u" ep. they will be
on sale on the upcoming tour dates. we will have them up in the online store
soon as well. the actual street date is for later this month, including
itunes.

as you may have noticed there have been some tour dates showing up slowly
but surely. there will be plenty more where that come from. east coast,
canada, midwest, europe...nail down what you plan to keep.
a few new things coming down the pike. kill rock stars released a holiday
compilation on itunes. for the nominal amount of 99 cents you can get your
our copy of the paper chase doing a rendition of john lennons merry x-mas
war is over. for years this has been on of my favorite songs it was a real

in other paper chase song headhunter news: in support of our friend zac
crain who is running for mayor of dallas we contributed a song to a benefit
cd for his campaign. its a full band rock song called "oh the horror, the
horror!". the cd will be out in december. it should be somewhat easy to find
in dallas. for those out of town who want to get the mitts on it im sure you
can order it and get more information from www.crainformayor.com. its gonna
be a great cd with tons of heavy hitters.
and strangely enough we are inexplicably re-releasing our little odd ep
cntrl-alt-del-u on a young new label called gilead media. i would imagine it
will be out sometime early next year. for more info you might want to check

hi all...i know we haven't been too terribly active lately we've hit a few
stumbling blocks, but things are getting back in order and better than
ever...i didn't want to post anything until there was something worth saying
in general. so try this on for size the paper chase is now a member of the
fantastic booking agency ground control touring. we would like to welcome
ben dickey to our family as our new american booking agent. its such an
honor to be on one of the most reputable rosters in america. we cant tell
you how happy we are to share ground with the likes of sonic youth, bright
eyes, yeah yeah yeahs, cat power, spoon, cursive, apples in stereo, mogwai,
and of coarse the incredible explosions in the sky. those are just the ones
i can name off the top of my head. we are very happy.

seems like forever ago when i finished this record. but finally the day has
come! "now you are one of us" is out today in america and other parts of the
world. ahem, if you live in the UK dont get cocky that it came out first
there. so let it begin, your sharp tongue criticism. about how we let you
down because we didnt redo an earlier album, or how much better this one may
actually be, how much we lost our way..getting old, how we have
advanced...you never liked us before this album, you liked us until this
album....this is for you:

this thing the paper chase for many years now, we have traveled the world

not just myself...or the other guys....this is our thing, you and me. these

To our UK fans:
I hate to carry the bad news, but our UK tour has been cancelled.
There was an illness in the band. It all happened very suddenly on the
afternoon we were to catch our flight. Unfortunately, there was no way
around it.
On the brighter side: health matters have been tended to, recovery is
in process and everyone is going to be OK.
We know that some of you will be quite disappointed. I can assure you
that we share your frustration. After all, Dallas, TX isn't exactly
the most beautiful place to be stuck this time of year.
The tour is currently being rescheduled for the fall. We'll let you
know as soon as these dates materialize.

how goes it all with the good fight? not well im sad to say for our friends
at divot who had to close their doors a month ago. a vicious fire destroyed
the divot home base and its forcing them to pull out out of being a full
time record, label at least for now. this means that "control alt delete u"
will not be repressed any time in the near future.
so get to ebay, get to amazon or what have you and get the final remaining
ones floating about because as of now there are no plans to have anyone else
release it. im so bummed this had to happen to two of my most favorite
people in the world.

-still nothing much happening here. rumbles and grumbles. felt like i should
write something. i was able to hold the real deal copy of the new paper
chase album yesterday and it looks very nice. danny, our graphics main man,
did an wonderful job.
-we are booking a UK tour for may (right when the album comes out over
there) no mainland europe this time. we will certainly get there, no worries
with that. a fairly extensive american tour will follow close behind that
one.
-other things are in the works, an ep later this year of tracks left off
from the new album is being tossed around. some acoustic recordings, a john
lennon cover tune for a kill rocks stars comp, another elegant double vinyl
version of the new album. so many things, so little time.
-keep up with the pop ins, we will eventually post some spurts from the new
album.

Greetings. The band is currently in the woods of Minnesota, where we are finishing the drums,
bass and piano for the new album. In other news, we hear that we have been receiving radio airplay in Israel.

ladies and gentleman, an icon of punk rock has moved on. i have received sad news that john loder (owner of southern records) died a few days ago in his
hometown of london. john was not only the reason the paper chase first got to go over to europe, he was a big part of the growth of this band and was a huge
fan of ours. because of the distance of an ocean between us, i never got to know him personally as i would have liked to, but i enjoyed the time we had
together.

heres whats on the hotplate for us...we have an entirely new layout for the website in the works. including all new forms of media, online store, and other
exciting stuff. we plan to launch it in the next couple of months. so please keep checking back.
the big news for us now, is we are about to begin recording yet another album. this one will again be with kill rock stars, the label that we are most honored
to call home. look for it next year.
we will be doing sporadic tour dates for the next three months in the south and midwest. check out the shows page and check it often. theres no reason not to..."wilford."
